Cannot start oss

When I use soundon, it will say:

Relinking OSS kernel modules for "2.6.26-ARCH SMP preempt mod_unload 686 "
This may take few moments - please stand by...

OSS build environment set up for REGPARM kernels

Relinking the OSS kernel modules failed

Why? I used to use OSS. But now it doesn't work... How can I fix it?
I tried to find if there was a newer version on the official site, but it seemed that there wasn't any newer versions.

Re: Cannot start oss

Rebuild the package. You need to rebuild oss-linux-free after a kernel update (for example 2.6.25-2.6.26)

Re: Cannot start oss

But I've never installed the package called "oss-linux-free"...
I have downloaded "oss-linux-v4.0-1016-i386.tar.bz2" from the official website. And I used "cd / && tar xvf oss-linux-v4.0-1016-i386.tar.bz2" to extract the file.  In the past, it would be all right when I had run "soundon". But now, whatever I do, it still doesn't work at all....

Re: Cannot start oss

Open the archive and see what files it uses and manually delete them, then build the oss-linux-free package from AUR.
