How do I get Openoffice to integrate into Gnome like KDE

Just installed gnome and all its goodies and I'm taking some time to learn it as I've always been a KDE fanboy... but felt that KDE was way too bloated....

Anyways... I removed and reran setup thinking that since gnome wasn't installed before that that was why it wasn't showing up in the gnome applications menu...

Alas no such luck... a new session or a reboot doesn't fix the problem either.

I'll be damned if i'm going to make launcher's by hand for every Openoffice file as well as manually set up file associations.  Is the package broken? Or am I doing something wrong with Gnome?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

try ximian's openoffice.
it should work [not sure though]

ps.
it's not what you want, but you can do this:
open OpenOffice and Drag n Drop the files from Nautilus to OpenOffice

Re: How do I get Openoffice to integrate into Gnome like KDE

The open office installer is supposed to have a gnome integration setting... just like the KDE one.   Basically I just want it to add to the gnome menu and set up the file associations...

I see there no package for the Ximian or I just don't know where to find it... I'll go search the forum (i'm not trying to be lazy here...   big_smile  )

Thanks for the reply...
