Hi,
I just installed archlinux-2008.06 and am in the process of configuring and installing packages, etc. I am using fluxbox and everything is great except I cannot play any music CDs. I can access data CDs w/o any problems. I am using Xmms audio player. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Well, works fine here. XMMS, libcdaudio plugin, ALSA output, both analog and digital extraction modes.
Post your XMMS config.

Err... that is something completely different.
Just tell me how you configured your audio cd plugin.

Sorry, byte, I don't know enough about it to give you an intelligent answer. To what plugin(s) do you refer? I have configured nothing related to xmms that I know of.

Is what I have in my fstab. If you have hal enabled, all that other crap will prevent your cd's and such from being read.

Thank you very much for your help....problem solved. It turned out to be a configuration issue: cdrom was listed under /mnt rather than /media. Thanks again.
