xmonad - per screens status bars - how?

Hi,

I have been using xmonad since version 0.5 or so and am very happy with it. Yesterday I setup a second monitor using nVidia TwinView and xmonad works with this well, taking into account the Xinerama hints provided by the nVidia driver. On the xmonad webpage one of the features listed is * Per-screens custom status bars. Does this mean that xmonad can drive two status bars, one for each screen, or that you are simply able to place a statusbar on the second screen seperate to xmonad, for example cli-conky and dzen. After looking through the example configs, the xmonad doccumentation and screen shots I couldn't see anyone using a status bar per screen in xmonad. If anyone is running a status bar per screen could you share your xmonad.hs or a link to where it is doccumented?

Much appreciated,

Mike

You can specify with dzen which Xinerama screen to use. It is the -xs option which does this. Look here: http://dzen.geekmode.org/dwiki/doku.php … ption-list

Hi Ashren,
thanks for the help. Wasn't aware of that option having not had two screens to play with before. Also found the hacking dzen and mobar thread http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=40637 handy.
