Accelerate mouse cursor

Ok, recently I found this cool feature from Xorg where if you press shift + alt + numlock, you can be able to control the cursor on the screen with the numpad keys, such as 8-up, 2-down, 6-right, 4-left, (5 if you want to leftclick), imo the cursor moves too slow to get around easily enough, is there a way to configure this to make it move faster?

Thanks

Re: Accelerate mouse cursor

Try fiddling around with the "m" option to xset(1). Passing it an option lets you set the mouse's acceleration.

Re: Accelerate mouse cursor

Perhaps pressing shift, control, or alt will increase the cursor speed? Seems like a mouse would be faster and more accurate though.

Re: Accelerate mouse cursor

I use Gnome, as well, and just was going to say the same thing.  Since you said this was a feature of Xorg, however, I wasn't sure the gnome settings would change the behavior of the keyboard shortcut feature.  However, I tried it out and it does indeed affect the speed.

I guess that would only work for Gnome, though.  And unfortunately I don't know what files are changed to make the difference, so I'm no help there.
