Arch 0.7: Installation Failure

I recently downloaded the Arch 0.7 ISO off of the archlinux.de mirror.  However, I was unable to complete installation.  I was able to get up until the "Install Packages" step, where it first attempts to download and install pacman to install the other packages.  However, installation of pacman failed with the following error message (might not be *exact*, but something very similar):

# Installation failed for package 'pacman'
# /arch/setup : pacman.static not found

Again, I'm not 100% if this is the exact error message, but it had something to do with the fact that a 'pacman.static' file was unable to be found.  No matter which server I tried to use to download this file from, I got the exact same error message.

Thanks,

Re: Arch 0.7: Installation Failure

Did you use the floppies instead of the CD?  I haven't updated the images on the ftp site, but I'll do it now.

Try downloading fresh disk images from ftp.archlinux.org and installing again.

Here are the sums of the new images, so you can verify you have the latest.

Re: Arch 0.7: Installation Failure

I get "You haven't properly setup a configuration for this host in config.php" when attempting to go to that site.  Do the other mirrors have a copy?

(I'd check now if I were able to)

edit: ah, ftp:// instead of http://

Re: Arch 0.7: Installation Failure

OK, I re-tried using the CD to install and it worked just fine, it must have just been a temporary filesystem or network problem.

I would like to make one note, however, about the floppy images.  Those with USB keyboards are unable to use the floppy images (at least I was unable to) because during bootup you are required to insert the ROOT disk (and thus needing input from the keyboard) before the USB module is even loaded.  I tried doing a bootup with NEEDUSB=auto and I still ran into this same problem.

But thanks for the help, and keep up the good work!

Re: Arch 0.7: Installation Failure

i beleive your bios should have an option to do all the usb keyboard work for you. it can be rather helpful in times like these.
