A quick Module question.

I have a hp-wmi.ko module that works very good with my HP multimedia buttons located here: /lib/modules/2.6.27-rc1-zenmm0/kernel/drivers/misc/hp-wmi.ko

Is it possible to modprobe it into my kernel26zen2 kernel here: /lib/modules/2.6.26-zen2/kernel/drivers/misc

Would that work?

Re: A quick Module question.

No, you would have to build the module against the zen2 kernel.

That's what I thought, maybe I'll just use the 2.6.27zenmm kernel instead, because I only tried the 2.6.26zen2 to see if the "tuxonice" patch would work on my hp pavilion..... and it doesn't..... I am having the worst time trying to get suspend/resume to work.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, I just figured that they were the same zen sources patch and the mm patches, just on the newer 2.6.27 kernel, so I wasn't sure how different that might be from 2.6.26-3 and 2.6.27-rc-1.
