50% of CPU usage

Hello everybody, I'm using Archlinux & Fluxbox on an Intel laptop.
Recently I noticed looking at Conky stats that the CPU usage never raises over 50%. So I've started to think that this could be because of the dual core processor. Maybe is only working with one half.
Am I wrong? How can I fix this?

Thank you and sorry for my english if there are mistakes feel free to correct me roll

Re: 50% of CPU usage

It might be a problem with conky. A friend of mines conky says he is using 100% of his 4gb of ram on openbox all the time.

It is because of the dual processors. Single threaded applications can max-out one core and some monitoring programs show you the total CPU usage.
