Xchm help.

./configure end up in:

checking whether NLS is requested... yes
checking for GNU gettext in libc... yes
checking for wx-config... no
configure: error:
wxWidgets must be installed on your system
but the wx-config script couldn't be found.

Please check that wx-config is in path, the directory
where wxWidgets libraries are installed (returned by
'wx-config --libs' command) is in LD_LIBRARY_PATH or
equivalent variable and wxWidgets version is 2.3.4 or above.

Meaning either WxWidgets is not installed or the libraries are not in my path. Since I have installed it prior to './configure' for xchm, I know it's there. So the culprit must be libraries in this case.
Hence I, according to the instructions:

[dagreat1@b0x4 xchm-0.9.3]$ /usr/local/bin/wx-config --libs
-L/usr/local/lib -pthread -lwx_gtk-2.4

And do,

  export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$/usr/local/lib

But it still doesnt work.
Any help is much appreciated.

http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … light=xchm
ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/incoming/
seek there for chm

GnoCHM:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … light=xchm

or xchm 0.9.1 works so stick with it until you find out a solution smile

look http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … =gtk+gnome
to make your GTK1 apps look prettier [you can also "complain" about wxGTK not being built with GTK2 support and not being ready]
the last is here:
http://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?do=details&id=581

and you need a flyspray account

Re: Xchm help.

I am not sure how all this is related to fixing the library problem?
Unless I cant see the obvious in your effort to help.
The error is in WxWidgets libraries. I cant go any further than ./confgure so making my applications look beautiful or installing a chm decoding library is still far away.
Also, 'flyspray account'?
Thank you for your input.

Re: Xchm help.

Dagreat1 I can understand how irrelevant I was. BUT if you could read between the lines you would understand that the best way to do your work in the middle of august is to use an already-there package for xchm

that's all.

ps. I *know* this doesn't fix your problem.
but a wxWidgets pkg is also pending so I think we must concentrate on having this ship soon, and then see if it works with it.

Good Luck either ways
and thank you for thanking me for my input smile [how angry are you at this point?] smile

Re: Xchm help.

Hello, zeppelin.
Angry? (-:  I dont even remember the last time I was in that state.
Anyway, I'll get the xchm package. I did try it before installing from source but,

pacman -Sy xchm

said no such package exist. How do I determine the names?
Thankyou for any pointers.
