[SOLVED]nano: what hotkey to save? (trying to install)

Problem: I dont know how to save when I try to edit the grub file. (trying to install)

Actually I dont know any commands, but I found out how to edit by accident (pressing "i"), but even if I pressed all the buttons I couldnt find one to save.

For some reason I also couldnt use the "^", every other key worked as it should exept that one so its not like I dont have the correct layout on my keyboard (I changed it with "km").

I tried searching for a list of the hotkeys for nano, but because the name "nano" is used by a lot of things and Im not sure if the commands are called "hotkeys" I spent an hour without finding anything.

If possible, could someone add the commands to the "beginners guide"? I think it would help out a lot for us who havnt used the command-window (nano) before.

Welcome to the forums:

ctrl+o save
ctrl+x exits

ctrl is what the ^ means on the bottom menu.

If you want to save a file in nano, you can hit F2 and follow the prompt, or just ctrl+x

Thanks for telling people hopefully I can find everything else that goes wrong in the wiki and dont have to bug you anymore
