according to the wiki, [core] contains a command-line browser but it does not mention which one. the usual suspects (lynx, links) are not installed on my brand new install, so i ask: is such a browser installed, and if so, what's it called?
thanks in advance.

$ pacman -Sl core | grep links
core links 2.2-2
Not sure why it isn't installed. I suspect that is because it's not in the 'base' category. Hrm...

links is not in base; so you have to manually install it.

I just noticed that. Is there a (cli) browser in base? I am currently offline (from my archlinux box, i mean), so i can only install what is on CD.

The package would be on the cd too, just select and install it.
Unless of course you have the ftp cd, but that would be insane, considering you're offline, and with the ftp cd arch will try to download all packages...

I actually got online and installed links that way, but then I found instructions on how to install from the CD at http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Off … r_me.29.3F.
Issue resolved, user happy. Thanks to all for your help.
