I know that there is a similar post for a problem like this, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Specifically, I'm using ICEWM, and I already did everything. I got the keycode 176 for raising the speaker volume. I created my .Xmodmap in my home directory and added keycode 176 = XF86AudioRaiseVolume . I then run xmodmap .Xmodmap in my home directory. I run xev to check if it detects it correctly, and it does. My .icewm/keys file contains the key "XF86AudioRaiseVolume" aumix -v +5
Then nothing happens. I'm pressing the keys and nothing happens. Has anybody encountered this problem?
Also, how can I set up the "Windows" key to start the menu. Also, there is a keys on the right side of the space bar that all keyboards have. In windows, when you press it a menu appears, which is equivalent as if you had pressed the right mouse button. How can I set those two up to use in ICEWM. IN KDE, everything works fine, but not in ICEWM.
