I'm looking for a guide of some sort on how to set up a private remote Git repository. It has not been easy to find anything.
But I have come across a couple of guides.
First, Gitosis. Is Gitosis the way to go? It doesn't exist a PKGBUILD on it. And it seems a bit overkill for my private repository.

Second. The easy way.

Witch one? Any other solutions?

I never used gitosis, but as far as I know it is intended to set up larger git repositories and manage users and other stuff easier. If you're only going to use the repository for yourself, or only a very limited number of users it might be overkill.
I'm using a method similiar to the one described in the Rubynaut article, but I only use it for myself to share my code betwwen different pc's such that I don't need to have them all running in order to propagate changes.

You can make it another directory on the server box, you can make it a different box and use ssh+git, you can setup webdav and use git+neon(dav), uhh... lots of ways to do it, but you need to first find out what you are looking for.
What do you actually want?

Yes, I thought gitosis was a bit to much.
I want a backup of my files at a different place that is not my laptop. And the possibility to fetch the files from a different computer if needed. And the version control.
And I don't want it to be public. I don't need a lot of users. And a minimum of security is preferable.
