KDE 4.1, autostarting KMail minimized to system tray

Hi guys,

I've never actually used any mail client but i wanted to give KMail a try. I configured and i'm really happy with it but there is one irritating problem. I've added KMail to autostart but everytime i start KDE KMail appears in system tray and also pops out his main window on screen. Is there any way of setting KMail to start minimized to tray?

BTW I use KDEmod 4.1.1 and KMail 1.10.

Instead of autostarting, use the session saving functionality of KDE.

Re: KDE 4.1, autostarting KMail minimized to system tray

I don't like restoring sessions in KDE and i prefer autostarting. Maybe i would use it if i could actually save session and not restore the previous one. If i switch to 'restore saved session' there is still no 'save session' button in Kmenu - as it used to be in KDE 3.5.x.

Re: KDE 4.1, autostarting KMail minimized to system tray

After testing how qdbus works i found workaround for my problem:

kmail && qdbus org.kde.kmail /kmail/kmail_mainwindow_1 hide

That makes KMail to hide main window after it starts. If anyone knows better solution then i would be glad for sharing.
