I have successfully installed Arch on my new EEE PC 1000H, but I still have some minor flaws:
- The touchpad is not recognized as a synaptic but only as an "Macintosh Mouse Button Emulation", the synaptic driver says:
Query no Synaptics: 000000
(EE) synaptics no synaptics touchpad detected and no repeater device
(EE) synaptics Unable to query/initialize Synaptics hardware.
(EE) PreInit failed for input device "synaptics"
The Touchpad is working (even with two-finger tapping), but it does not feel as comfortable as it does under windows. I was hoping that some tweaking with gsynaptics could help...does anyone successfully run an eeepc 1000 with synaptic driver?
- I'm using the Logitech V20 USB Speakers, but I can not get them run as default audio device, because the internal one would be still choosen. Any quick solution for this?
- Gnome does not feel very snappy, especially window scrolling is slow, but processor usage is low. I think there is something wrong with the Xorg Configuration (Driver: intel), but I haven't done anything specific just the standard config.
Anyone using an 901 or 1000 with similar problems or solutions?
