[SOLVED] Q: How to prevent Conky from showing in Pypanel in Openbox?

I am running openbox - and have conky and pypanel set to start in the background before openbox starts.

The commands are in .xinitrc.

I've tried all sorts of different startup orders - yet I can't seem to keep Conky out of the Taskbar.

Any ideas?

Posting your conkyrc and related ob settings could be a start..

Anyway

$ man conky

and look for own_window_hints.
..Or if you're feeling lazy, you might want to try adding

own_window_type  desktop

to your conkyrc.

Thank you. Changing my conkyrc to

own_window yes
own_window_type desktop

fixed the issue!

Sorry for not posting the configs up front. I was being noobish and rude. I've been away from *nix for a few years.

Whoops.. sorry, didn't mean to make you feel that way! But as you understand, posting the info relative to the issue helps a lot when trying to help "remotelly" over the net.
