Back when I was using KDE, I dug Klipper - very handy tool, whan you often copy&paste text - mainly because it could remember hundreds of chunks of text I copied. But now with awesome this stuff is gone. I was looking for any alternative, but anything I found was Glipper, which has Gnome dependencies. I'd be happy to have this same functionality with systray icon sitting in my awesome statusbar. Is there any similar tool without huge KDE/Gnome dependencies?
Other soulution is to write my own tool, if there's no alternative.
EDIT: I'm aware of Klipper, Glipper, gnome-clipboard-daemon, Parcellite, xfce4-clipman-plugin. Only Parcellite is lightweight but lacks the ability to remember PRIMARY selection .
Thanks

Glipper old. It depends on libgnome but not on the whole gnome desktop.

Thanx for quick reply. I've already seen it, but so many depenedencies for a clipboard? That's quite a lot:

Meanwhile, I came across parcellite, which looks quite promissing, but seems to lack ability to eat PRIMARY clipboard (that should be the selection, pasted with middle click). It has nice icon, and floating popup menu with custom shortcut.

@dante4d,
Thanks for the tip about Parcellite - I had been using Glipper, but Parcellite seems to do the job fine without as much overhead.

Yeah, it's cool. The only problem is that it doesn't eat PRIMARY selection... yet.

There is also parcelle, but is that an older version of parcellite ? I remember having both installed and trying to figure out the differences. One had more features I believe....anyway, it wouldn't hurt to try that out too. It should be in AUR.
The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

Yes, I think it's an older version of Parcellite. Same author, same page, lower version number.

You should check out the svn version of parcellite, it supports primary selection pretty well.

Parcellite is pretty cool! Thanks for the idea
Glipper was crushing all the time, I've now installed parcellite and 'it works like a charm'
