Gnome 2.22
Icon set: Hydroxygen, found on www.gnome-look.org
Conky + gDesklets

Why both aMSN and emesene? if i may ask.

And could you share the background?

Sorry, I hadn't time to lurk the forum as I usual do big_smile

I use both aMSN and Emesene because sometimes aMSN just get stuck and it won't restart in a couple of minutes, so I've also got emesene for "emergency" connecting. Moreover, I'm not even sure if I prefer aMSN or Emesene, still deciding. Lastly, I've got lot of free space to waste big_smile

Anyway, this is my desktop:

Enjoy! wink

My first screenshot...
PekWM with Jello theme and Mist GTK theme.
Visibility and Trayer in the top left corner; Sonata, Firefox with Vimperator, and URxvt visible; Emesene in the tray.

I'm not sure what's happening with the bottom-right corner, it looks like a remnant of an old wallpaper.

Re: September 2008 Screenshots

Mind sharing the details of your desktop ? Like, what apps you have running and possibly your config files? You've got one funky desktop there wink
Is that a taskbar in the right corner (is it visibility) ? And what is that in the left corner, showing the current desktop ? Do you have a system tray ?

the WM is FVWM, and nothing is really running in the screenshot besides standard FVWM stuff. The little thing in the corner showing the current desktop is just an fvwmbuttons module, and there's a little script to show the currently playing song in gmusicbrowser next to it. I don't use a system tray, anything I minimize just puts an icon in the lower right hand corner for it (like pidgin there).

When I get a chance i'll upload my config.

Re: September 2008 Screenshots

SamC: Mind posting your terminal colors? My set (I forget where I got them) are getting old and boring... and yours look just... nice. And consider your prompt copied big_smile

RobbeR49: I am LIKING that setup a LOT... I just wish FVWM could forget how to manage windows, since I *love* your icon management (it reminds me of Win3.x, and IMHO that version had icon display sorted out to a tee).

Varreon: I see no paradoxes there... but I do see an interesting-looking panel. Is that bmpanel there? If it isn't, what is it?

royrocks: Two pages of screenshots ago, you posted an awesome config featuring what looks like a semitransparent window border over a not-as-transparent window, so you obviously have something other than transset in use there. A full page later, Zepp asked how you did it, and I asked as well, but you never replied. If you don't soon, I'm PMing you. tongue

Windows was made for looking at success from a distance through a wall of oversimplicity. Linux removes the wall, so you can just walk up to success and make it your own.
