desktop icons and menu problems in Xfce

Hi

I've recently installed Arch and everything seems to be working well except I have a few annoying problems that I can't seem to get rid of.

1.  I can't seem to keep my desktop icons "locked" in once spot.  Everytime I log out or reboot and log back on, they're in different positions. I've modified the ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/icons.screen0.rc file, and checked the "save session for future logins" box when I logout, but nothing seems to work. It seems to be a problem with my usb keys, which show up as "Pen Drive" icons on my desktop.  I have two of them, and Xfce keeps putting them in different positions everytime and consequently moving the other icons around, everytime I log on.

2. I recently installed a program called "Xfburn", and It was placed in the Accessories menu, but I want it placed in the Multimedia menu instead. I used the menu editor, and I also edited the ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/menu.xml and ~/.cache/xfce4/desktop/menu-cache--home-matt-.config-xfce4-desktop-menu.xml.xml
files to remove it from Accessories, and place it in Multimedia, but once again, everytime I log out or reboot and log back in, it's back in the Accessories menu (and also in Multimedia)

3. How do I get my hard disk icons to show up on the desktop?

edit: Ok I kind of solved #3.  I just created symbolic links in my ~/Desktop directory to where my drives are mounted, and the link automatically shows up on my desktop.  I guess this is good enough.

Now I just need to change the icons, however there doesn't seem to be a way to do it.  I really wish Xfce had a better "right-click" menu.  I wish there was a create->new->folder option for instance (similar to Windows, and I remember I could do this in KDE as well).

Re: desktop icons and menu problems in Xfce

For #2, edit /usr/share/applications/xfburn.desktop and change the "Categories" line to the following:

Categories=AudioVideo;

Then run the 'xfdesktop' command.

As for #1 and #3, can't help you there since I've never used desktop icons.
