I have problem using touchpad. I have configured xorg.conf as writen on wiki and synclient -m 100 is giving me output whereever I move my finger. Even right edge works as scroll wheel but cannot make mouse pointer move.
Any ideas?

I have the same problem in gnome, but it works when using KDM and KDEmod3. I'm using the xorg-server in testing.
The buttons still work though.

I believe that I have a similiar problem.
Synclient gives output, and mouse works before you login in GDM.
I checked my sessions, and there is a session named "Touchpad" that executes "gsynaptics-init --sm-disable"
My buttons below the touchpad work fine, but the actual touchpad itself stops working as soon as this session is loaded.
I tried running in console, and here is the output:
[root@intellitech /]# gsynaptics-init --sm-disable
** (gsynaptics-init:11210): WARNING **: Using synclient
Unknown parameter CoastingSpeedThreshold
[root@intellitech /]# exit
exit
[zen@intellitech ~]$ gsynaptics-init --sm-disable
** (gsynaptics-init:11290): WARNING **: Using synclient
Unknown parameter CoastingSpeedThreshold
[zen@intellitech ~]$
Also, I'm running a Thinkpad T61P, if that makes any difference.
Any ideas? Anyone?
Thanks!

From what i have heard plus first hand experience do not install gsynaptics. uninstall it, it has problems with the new kernal.
