kde4 problem with color-schemes and systray icons

I just set up archlinux with kde4 after using xfce for quite some time. i actually quite like it and have managed to get rid of most annoyances. But two things keep buggin me.

Firstly some programs (archassistant, skype, smplayer, virtualbox) ignore parts of my color schemes. so i select a menu point for example the background colour gets blue instead of grey. only if i open systemconfig and select my color scheme (which is already active) and apply these settings again, it changes. but only until i close the app...
most apps work perfectly though.

the second thing is that the systray icons look really messed up sometimes (only with compiz-fusion enabled).

thanks for any help
rumo.
