CS doesn't start for some reason

There is only one game I play on my laptop and that's Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. Steam installs and starts great but when I try to run the game it doesn't seem to start. It throws back these errors in the console:

err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {9a5ea990-3034-4d6f-9128-01f3c61022bc} not registered
err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {9a5ea990-3034-4d6f-9128-01f3c61022bc} could be created for context 0x1
err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c000001d flags 0 addr 0x7ee42c50

Anyone got an idea of what's wrong? This is no new graphically intense game so I assumed this could possibly work under Linux.

Thanks.

I can't solve your problem directly, but searching for the first error (the whole line) brings up all sorts of hits.

Re: CS doesn't start for some reason

*Sometimes* I have the same issue with Counter-Strike 1.6. Steam opens nicely, but sometimes CS refuses to open. If I start Steam again, then it opens. Half-Life or Portal ALWAYS open. So it's only for CS, and it's really random.

Might be related to a particular version of Wine, or Steam, or both.
