Does anyone know about a solution which automatically collects core dumps if a program crashes and processes them, i.e. creates a textfile with a backtrace and some additional information? I already checked apport, but it seems to be specific for ubuntu and is a hell of a script (and does much more than i want). Google didn't show anything useful.
Creating normal coredumps with ulimit is not an option for me, because it could clutter up my hdds and i want to fetch information about programs which crash infrequently without a visible cause (like the xfce4-panel).
