Yeah, that's how I set mine... Like Varreon said, feh --bg-<center/scale> <file>
Useful if your WM doesn't come with an "appearance manager", plus it doubles as an awesome image viewer tongue

Openbox, with epiphany, obconf, lxappearance, and urxvt. You can just barely see the corner of stalonetray in the bottom left too. The gtk and openbox themes are customizations of Mist and TropicBomb, respectively.

The wallpaper is from the Elementary Project. Icons are Tango.
