KDE is very barren...

Hello...

I installed KDE via the preferred(?) method

pacman -Sy kde

and I logged into KDE (I use gdm as my display manager) only to find that many many things seem to be missing. The K menu is almost completely empty (Only the bookmarks and quick browser appear) and I go to run kcontrol (KDE control center) and the left panel is COMPLETELY empty. Is there something else I need to install. What am I missing?

Any help appreciated. Sorry if this has been discussed before... I searched thoroughly for my problem

I had the same issue, to fix I just pacman -U every kde packages:

pacman -U arts...
pacman -U kdelibs...
pacman -U kdebase...
...
