[SOLVED]mpd+sonata stuttering when logging out

Whenever I logout and mpd is playing a track, there's 2 second period where the song just stutters. Is there anyway to fix/minimize this? I'm using ALSA (I think)

I also got this stuttering. Music used to play perfectly also when logging out, but this problem suddenly appeared, so it's probably because of some update(s). I'm also using ALSA.

I advice you to update to mpd-git or mpd-mk from aur... Sounds like this might be related to the high CPU alsa bug, that ifected mpd a while back.

I use OSS4. Sometimes this stuttering happens and sometimes it doesn't. Kind of strange really.

Re: [SOLVED]mpd+sonata stuttering when logging out

after I d/l one of these mpds that you mention, Rasi, do I need to reconfigure /etc/mpd.conf?

Do I have to remove my current mpd, or will the new one just write over it?

EDIT: or would "mpd-pulse" be better, since it seems that I have pulseaudio installed. How do I know if my computer's using Pulseaudio, alsa, or OSS?

If you use oss4 the stuttering is not related to what i was refering to. I honestly have no clue in that case.

did you try setting the audio_buffer_size in /etc/mpd.conf?

Re: [SOLVED]mpd+sonata stuttering when logging out

I had to give audio_buffer_size about 32Mb until it stopped stuttering. But, it's fixed it. Thanks!
