Re: bcm4328 card driver

Here is where you can download it for 64-bit Linux,

ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=616801

For the 32-bit drivers, go to this page

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiD … 4ef0862956

and search for 4328.  There will be a link to the Dell support site, and some instructions.

You can install it with ndiswrapper using the instructions here,

wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wireless#ndiswrapper

Re: bcm4328 card driver

NOOOOOO!!!

Don't use ndiswrapper!

The new b43 driver works VERY well.  I am using it with a 4311 Broadcom, right now, it's very stable, and fast.

Go here http://www.linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43 follow the directions for your card.

bcm43xx is depreciated and no longer in use (unless you have an older kernel)

Sorry I missed this, it looks like it's been a few days since the first response. I am assuming that you installed it.

blacklist ndiswrapper and bcm43xx in your MODULES array (/etc/rc.conf) and add b43 (or b43legacy). You may need to rerun fwcutter, just follow the directions on the link that I posted above.

Re: bcm4328 card driver

timetrap: did you read unsupported list from that link?

unsupported

    * The 802.11a part of the 4309 and 4312 is not supported.
    * There is no support for any Draft 802.11n features. We are working on it.
    * BCM 4328/4329

There is somebody on this forum who's using ndiswrapper with that chipset
here is it: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=50195

Re: bcm4328 card driver

I'm using ndiswrapper with that exact chipset, using the 64-bit driver.  It works fine.  However, b43 didn't work.

Re: bcm4328 card driver

okay, my situation is. it wasnt the driver not being installed properly, it was that there is a bug with ssb and ndiswrapper, ndiswrapper needs to be loaded before ssb and ohci_hcd

**update: having fixed this bug i am now posting via wireless. now its just time to make this all happen automatically xD

Re: bcm4328 card driver

Now there's a driver for Broadcom 4328, no need to use ndiswrapper.  See theBroadcom 4312 Wiki page, it doesn't just deal with 4312.  The driver is in AUR, broadcom-wl.
