Compress /, running out of space

Hi guys:

Unfortunately, I've running out of space on my eee's root partition. I would like to know, if it's possible, what should I do to compress the filesystem and make it rw using a tmpfs overlay (which must sync to another folder when the system shuts down).

thanks

They say that if you play a Win cd backward you hear satanic messages. That's nothing! 'cause if you play it forwards, it installs windows.

Do you cache pacman downloads?

Get rid of them with pacman -Scc.

Re: Compress /, running out of space

Nope, not catching downloads nor storing logs (/var is mainly a bunch of symlinks pointing to /tmp, which is a tmpfs).
