video card disappeared after a fresh install

hi guys,
did a fresh install of arch today ... i know, never touch a running system

installation went fine and everything was succesfully created and configured ... until i rebooted my machine. i got a blank screen with several errors on it to check my cables whether the screen is plugged in or not. well, it was plugged in

instead of my external graphics card (NV geforce 6600gt) arch is using my onboard one (crappy chip which is destroying all fonts, arrgh) . is there any possibility to reactivate this card?
