I tried Truecrypt 5 in Hardy Heron and it worked flawlessly no unmounting volume  issues, I am still struggling how to unmount a volume in truecrypt 5

The simple yet profound fact that a user may install Arch once and never have to reinstall is, IMO, invaluable.

I have only badly broken Arch once in 5 months.
Thank (insert superstitious invocation here) for partimage.

An 8 minute repair works for me.

Ubuntu is fantastic to get new converts but the ubuntu team team to be losing focus at the minute and making ubuntu far too slow and creaky.

I agree smile . What good is Ubuntu's friendliness as soon as you hit the first hitch (for a newbie it's 5 to 30 minutes after the installation)? It all too often happens in its own Ubuntu way.

For instance: what are you going to do if there's no sound on the system? Start the alsaconf script - that is, on any distro but Ubuntu. So you end up having to know more than you've bargained for.

Re: Why I love Ubuntu!

Ubuntu was the first linux OS I tried on my PC.Absolutely fell in love with it that time.! big_smile
Kept it for 3 months or so while I learnt how Linux works before I got the oh-so-common distro-hopping itch.I checked out Fedora 8, Sabayon, Mint, Mandriva, Slackware before finally settling down with Arch.Rolling release is FTW.!!

I have always liked the idea of Slackware with Pacman.  It's like arch but for i386 smile

Slarchware?  It doesn't exactly roll trippingly off the tongue, but it's an interesting idea.

I was thinking more SlackPacked tongue

I like the idea, although it wouldn't be using pacman's full features of rolling release it would still be cool, it's a shame I wouldn't really know where to start sad

That is a great idea, and a great name. smile
