Did you install Urban Terror yet?
Haven't got around to it yet. What server do you play at ? You'll see me as [Arch]moljac024
I have only played a handful of games, on east coast (New York City) servers. If you are in eastern Europe, we may have to try and meet more toward the middle.
Let's try and meet up on IRC.

Urban Terror seems cool! but alas it crashes after 5-15 minutes of play. Darn! Gotta start digging on that one!

I tend to play on some of the paladin warrior servers as well...

Moral of the story: WHO SAYS GEEKS DON'T GAME ?

On my quadcore PC I sometimes experience hiccups in Urban Terror. Both screen and sound are frozen for about half a second. It seems to only happen when I'm in action, but that might be because those are the times I need that half a second:P
I found this page (http://www.urbanterror.net/threading.html) on the Urban Terror website explaining how to fix "dramatic FPS and FPS drops when using a dual core processor", involving turning of "Threaded Optimization" in the video drivers. I also found a thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=706812) in the ubuntu forums suggesting the use of taskset to make sure the process stays on one core.
The taskset sollution didn't work out for me. I'll look into the driver settings later, don't feel like looking up how to do that for ati cards right now (almost 5 AM here:P).
Does anybody else experience something like this or has any ideas?
For lack of better words: chair, never, toothbrush, really. Ohw, and fish!

I'm thinking an Arch clan/server?

Well, it's not for free, but I think ET:QW is a pretty good game.
Good thing someone mentioned this. The best looking game on Linux, and a great update to ET, even if it isn't open source. I'm on hiatus though, due to over Covert Opsing.
Urban Terror is good for mindless killing though, so I would expect to see me on there this weekend, probably as CoarseSand [Arch]. Hope I run in to some other forumites.

I play the most in global defense and paladin warriors servers.
I play mostly Trigger Happy and Global Defense. The issue with Global Defense is the fact that there normally isn't an admin and abuse seems to be rampant lately.
Also, speak of Warsow, my university is having its semesterly LAN party on Nov. 8 and there will be a Warsow 1v1 duel tournament.

+1 for ET:QW.
As for other ET alternatives, what about TC:E?

Walking in TC:E is like slogging through a pool of molasses, and because you move so slowly as soon as someone sights you you're dead. Really not fun, at least IMO.

TC:E is quite fun though, to bad my lappy can't handle it.
And I really don't get the obsession of the graphics. Hell, I'm playing TeeWorlds often, and I am finding it ever so fun.
Arch - It's something refreshing

Agreed, I've been playing A LOT of AssaultCube lately and absolutely love it. The community is pretty mature too.

You can install urban terror from AUR:), but i takes a while to get it downloaded... I have played it for a while it's a fun game but I still have a dualboot for Call of Duty 4. I know it works in wine but punkbuster doesn't and you aren't going to solve that problem. Anyway over a week i have my laptop so then i will have one dualboot & reclaim my HD for Arch:)
