X fails with error about loading nvidia module? Use udev.

Recently had a problem, and fixed it - made this so others who may have the same problem can fix it faster.

With a fresh install of x86_64 Arch, the nvidia-beta drivers and utils from the AUR, and an xorg.conf generated from hwd, X failed to start. It said it couldn't find the nvidia module. Odd, huh? Reboot didn't fix it. I did some searching, and found a tutorial for adding the nvidia module. Very odd, since I'd never done it, nor heard of others doing it. But, lo! Peeking further, I discovered that it was not necessary with recent versions of some packages - and the package 'udev'. Had pacman install udev, and PRESTO - everything worked.

Give a shout if this helped, or if you have further info on why it did / why I didn't have to do this other times? smile

How could you not have udev installed?!
