k3b doesnt find any writers

I have KDE4 with k3b 1.95svn and two writers (LG and TEAC) and k3b doesnt find any of them. Why? They are located as /dev/sr1 and 0

Re: k3b doesnt find any writers

Well, i can only say that last time i've used K3B for KDE4  it wasn't usable. I couldn't even burn any CDs/DVDs and the app crashed every few minutes. I don't think that much have changed in this matter - its not even alpha stage. If i were you i would use old K3B and wait for the beta release of K3B for KDE4.

k3b for KDE4 is still experimental- factly the x64 version works much better than the 32-bit one.

Re: k3b doesnt find any writers

I'm using the older k3b (ver 1.0.5-1 from extra) and it can't find my /dev/cdrom.  I'm confident this is just a permission issue, but I'm not sure how to solve it.  Any advice?

Also on amd64, btw.

Never mind my issue.  I had added myself to the optical group, but it had not taken effect.  Running `newgrp optical` solved my problem.
