Downloading through Minicom

I have a gumstix board which I connect to via /dev/ttyUSB0.  Everything seems to work fine except that I can't upload or download files using minicom.  I was instructed to use

# sz -b filename

in order to download a file from the board to my computer.  In theory zmodem starts and mincom should download the file for me.  I've read through the minicom man page and tried changing settings and asked some other people who have had the same problem and resorted to Hyperterm in windows, which I don't want to do.

If you know how to get this to work please tell.

Thanks,
-Evan

Re: Downloading through Minicom

I'd say, use rz (receive) and not sz (send). Or try building lrzsz and picocom, read the manpages...

Re: Downloading through Minicom

I use lrzsz, works fine. EDIT: I should probably say that I used it for a soekris board. I couldn't find the original instructions, but I found this: http://wiki.soekris.info/Updating_Bios (there's a part on minicom) It's more-less what I did. Maybe it helps...
