Hello,
I'm using a usb wifi dongle (Asus wl-167g). I tried the rt2x00 drivers on it but didn't manage to make them work. So I now use ndiswrapper and netcfg2. It allows connection to my AP and to the internet. However, after a time, the connection completely stop working. I don't manage to make it work again (using netcfg2, iwconfig, etc...). In those case my only choice is to reboot (not so good). And even so, shutting down take a long time when the network connection is supposed to stop.
Has anybody met the same kind of issue? What should I do?

A little googling revealed this stick uses the RT73 chipset, so forget about ndiswrapper.
The only thing you need is the rt2x00-rt71w-fw package for the firmware; the driver is already part of the kernel, the module name is 'rt73usb'.

I would have loved it to be so easy... in fact the rt73 driver is only for the newer kind of wl-167g (second generation). The one I have belong to the first generation and the driver should be a rt2500usb/rt2570 one I tried with the rt73, after installing the firmware, but the dongle is not recognized.
