Hello everyone.
I have a problem with VMWare. I just installed my Archlinux from ftp install, so I have the brand new software on my box. I installed vmware as it written in the archlinux wiki. Here is the output that I am getting when I execute 'vmware' from my shell
[ ~ ] vmware

I got the same error with user and root. I have configurated vmware-configure.conf successfuly. What can I do. I found a similar topic in the forum, I was not able to fix the problem, by using the information there, so I am posting new topic. If you need some more info about my archlinux or so, let me know.
Regards.

issue a:
export VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK="no"
and problem solved.
You might save that workaround on a profile script.
They say that if you play a Win cd backward you hear satanic messages. That's nothing! 'cause if you play it forwards, it installs windows.

The 'export VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK="n' does not solve my issue. This is a true showstopper for me, since I _need_ Vmware for my work.
I reckon this is not an arch specific issue, but I have not been able to dig up a solution yet. Whose butt should be kicked for this one?

For the record, Vmware Server 2 works OK. I am not too fond of the fact that management is done via the browser, and starting a machine that is not in the inventory is a bit cumbersome, but it works OK. Quite a heft download though: 535 MB... Jeez... if my work didn't force Vmware on me, I would use Virtualbox anytime.
