I want to run arch from a compact flash card that is connected to my laptop via a cardbus adapter (no bios setting for booting form pcmcia).
It seems to me (no claims of knowing what I'm talking about here) that if I initially install arch on my regular hd and enable booting from pcmcia, then this would load the pcmcia modules with the initramfs so the compact flash card can be mounted during boot. So then all I would have to do is move everything except / and /boot to the compact flash and symlink all the other directories to the compact flash.
Would this work?
