Crazy Bumping Suggestion [SOLVED]

I've been observing the forums and there has been a lot of crazy bumps for example the Katapult one that was bumped recently after 2 years. To reduce this from happening. does anyone think there should be an archive category where posts older than whatever should be placed and 'locked' in these forums? It would reduce clutter.

PS. Couldn't find any topics along these lines using the forum search.
