[SOLVED] SLiM Question

I have been looking into the SLiM Login manager and it says this about changing sessions:

sessions |     icewm, wmaker, blackbox  |    A list of available session names. You can choose the session at login time by pressing F1. Note that this feature is experimental

Has anyone had any errors or problems when wanting to change sessions in SLiM using the F1 key?
And how come the session only offers icewm, wmaker, blackbox as default, I imagine you can change them. Am I right?

Re: [SOLVED] SLiM Question

Works fine for me. Edit the sessions line in slim.conf as required, and set up your .xinitrc correctly i.e. something like this.

Re: [SOLVED] SLiM Question

I still use slim, but If you find yourself changing sessions very often, I don't know if I'd recommend a switch.  The F1 functionality seems to work fine, but slim takes a long time to reload when you log out.. it also bugs out sometimes, eating up 100% cpu (here & here).

Re: [SOLVED] SLiM Question

I'm just getting prepared to know what to install when I install Arch on my PC. I am liking the minimalism of Openbox and want to try it out to see if I like it more than gnome. All I wish is that Openbox could have a global menu bar like OS X. For Gnome and KDE its possible to have the global menu, but for Openbox?
So I don't think I'm going to be changing DE's/WM's often so I shouldn't have a problem using SLiM.

Cheers,
molom

Re: [SOLVED] SLiM Question

@ molom

Have you try fbpanel? It is used on Maryan Linux Pekwm's session.

Cheers
