Whenever I try to download my nvidia drivers (pacman -S nvidia) I get this error:

resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
: : madwifi: requires kernel26<2.6.26
: : ndiswrapper: requires kerel26<2.6.26

I try to do a system upgrade but it doesnt update anything.. Why cant i Install my driver?

Re: Cant install Nvidia drivers for Geforce 6200 card

Bump

If it helps.. (and I think I know what the issue is..) My Kernel is 2.6.25.. so basically I need to upgrade my kernel to 2.6.26 and then madwifi and ndiswrapper will essentially "shut up" and let me DL my nvidia driver?

How are you doing a system upgrade?  It sounds like you're doing pacman -Su instead of pacman -Syu.

It seems that if you upgrade your kernel you should be fine. You could also try the drivers from the nvidia site itself.

Re: Cant install Nvidia drivers for Geforce 6200 card

I cant upgrade my system.. Ive done it by pacman -Su and pacman -Syu... when I do it, it just gives me an entire list of all the base packages and then runs down the entire list saying they are already installed. I did a pacman -Syy and pacman -Syu when I first got my internet up, but the beginners wiki I followed said i should add IgnorePkg to /etc/pacman.conf.. but i removed that line out of the conf file when pacman prompted me to download the kernel update when I tried to get my nvidia driver.. is that maybe why I cant update the kernel? Btw. haxit.. LOVE YOUR SIGNATURE!!!!!

Re: Cant install Nvidia drivers for Geforce 6200 card

Hey Thanks guys but I got it to work ^^. What I did was.. and I dont know why I tried this.. I attempted to Sync my madwifi driver.. but it gave me a dependency conflict saying ndiswrapper required the .26 kernel.. So I tried the same thing with ndiswrapper but then madwifi started complaining.. So I took ndiswrapper out back and shot it.. then came back did pacman -R ndiswrapper.. after that I attempted syncing madwifi again.. It had already downloaded BOTH the madwifi upgrade AND the kernel upgrade but ndiswrapper wouldnt let it up date, updated it, ran another upgrade on my system, then rebooted and I was able to install my nvidia drivers ^^. I have no idea why ndiswrapper and madwifi argued with eachother but i gues removing ndiswrapper temporarily fixed it.
