vmware: xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Zusicherung »((int) ((xcb_req) - (dpy->request)) >= 0)« nicht erfüllt.
The previous version 1.0.4 worked without problems.
My system is
Processor : AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 3200+
Memory : 2075MB
Operating System : Arch Linux
Kernel : Linux 2.6.25-ARCH (i686)
OpenGL Renderer: GeForce 7600 GT/PCI/SSE2/3DNOW!
Audio Adapter: NFORCE - NVidia CK804
What can I do to get it working?

Try:
export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1
vmware

Thanks, but it didn't work. I get the same message again.

Then try:
cd /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0
mv libpng12.so.0 libpng12.so.0.disabled
ln -s /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0
I'm assuming that's where vmware is storing its lib files -- if you're not sure use:
pacman -Ql vmware
to find out for sure. The German in your post threw me -- but this is the keyword "_XGetXCBBuffer" -- I remember having to do something very similar at work on a Ubuntu installation.

Thanks for your effort, Thomas.

The problem seems to be related to the new gtk-package, there is a thread in the german forum, too.
=> gtk update und vmware
And one in the vmware-forum.
=> vmware-server client problem causes GTK error on Fedora 9.x86_64
But this solution seems not to work here as I've read in the bug-report.
=> vmware isn't starting anymore since the update of gkt2
I didn't tried it myself yet, I will do it later when I'm closer to my own computer again.

rebuilt libx11, in PKGBUILD change configure directive --with-xcb to without-xcb
makepkg and install rebuilt one fixed vmware-server-console for me. not sure if that will break other things but i depend on vmware-server-console for work.

Has anyone found a proper solution for this problem?

for me it works perfect.
I have downloaded http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/ma … rig.tar.gz then
./configure --without-xcb
make
make install
ldconfig
