Hello!
Is there some program in the repositories like kpowersave or klaptop which will sit in system tray and allow user to control cpufreq scaling governors, manage powersave profiles (like battery, performance, presentation, etc.).
And another thing. On kde3 there was applet called kima. It sits in the tray and shows temperature, cpu load and current frequency - is there some way to install kima on Arch's kde4? Or is there alternate program to monitor these parameters?
Cheers

powersave - I think the new kde4 proggy for that is guidance-power-manager
for system stats, I'm sure there's some plasmoid doing that - search aur for plasmoid

Upon installation I was told that powersave is deprecated in favour of pm-utils, but it has only the most basic functionality, no profiles, no cpu scaling options. As if it wasn't enough

I see there's a coremoid plasmoid (sic!), but when i try to run it
QPainter::begin: Cannot paint on a null pixmap
QPainter::save: Painter not active
QPainter::setWorldTransform: Painter not active
QPainter::setWorldTransform: Painter not active
QPainter::setRenderHint: Painter must be active to set rendering hints

QPainter::restore: Unbalanced save/restore
QPainter::end: Painter not active, aborted

And it hangs the plasma permanently

Brilliant! Thanks
Too bad this coremoid is sooo badly written. Gray text on gray background, one ugly colour, and sooo not configurable.

Sorry - my post wasn't to suggest powersave, but guidance-power-manager. powersave was just a 'topic'. But anyway, if you like powerdevil better, go for it! (I didn't know about it.)

O, sorry for that. Guidance is just fine - waay better than this battery monitor applet.
Anyone suggesting some program which will sit in tray and show processor temperatures? (like kima-dock).
