KDE4 effects of on app launch HOW?

I want to make KDE4 auto off when I launch a program for example a game. How do I do that? Is there a list where I can write apps that will launch without effects of KDE4?

Are you speaking of something that will make a composite manager like Compiz not open certain apps using effects? If that is the case, I have never heard of anything that makes that possible. I have seen special system trays that turn Compiz off, but not certain windows.

Look for an option to disable startup-notification.

If you want to disable it for an individual application, try looking in the window manager options and adding a rule for that application, though I wouldnt be surprised if you could only disable it globally.

There should be on properties menu an option "Disable compositing" on launch. Like in Windows Vista

*brrrrr* Vista...

But yeah, that's a point. You can currently enable and disable Compositing in KDE 4 with a shortcut, a button on the desktop/panel and using dbus. The latter is usable from the commandline, and you could alter the command to disable compositing on start of the app and re-enable it afterwards, but that's awkward and difficult for average users. So such an option would be a good thing. I can't find a bugreport for this, but that's in part due to the fact I have no idea where it belongs in KDE, nor how it could be phrased.
