Re: e17 in community

Hi, even so this thread is quite old, I'm trying to get help:

After upgrading e17-svn on Okt. 2nd 08 my exalt module commits suicide! Anyone out there having the same problem?
It doesn't load anymore, with an error of a not defined function (I'm not on my comp now to look it up). Any ideas?

Thx

Re: e17 in community

The Exalt AUR package was updated a week after your last upgrade. Try to rebuild from that package.

That's my package big_smile!

And no, it doesn't work. The SVN-Repo for exalt was last updated on 14/09/08. So maybe it's a Bug. I'm just interested if it works for you, so the problem is on my PC, or if it is a general problem.

Well that got my really stupid post of the day out of the way. In fact, it may compete for my really stupid post of the week. Whoops!

I don't use the software, I just forgot what exalt was so I went and looked at AUR. I'll give it a spin and report back if it works for me...

--EDIT--

Before I go too far, why are you still pulling from berlios? Exalt is in the Enlightenment SVN tree:

http://trac.enlightenment.org/e/browser … ROTO/exalt

I tested this but is has no working gui... Watchwolf wrote in his wiki that he is going to rewrite a lot of code, so maybe there will be one in few weeks.

this thread is alive again? Please people, open new threads if you encounter a new problem so it is easier for other people to find the answer if they have a similar problem.

Sorry, I'll do so the next time. smile

I found the solution!

It's not in the exalt module, it's a enlightenment problem. I'll test it and let you know if it's working, so you might apply the patches to the e-package.

that does make sense as exalt (at least the one from the berlios server) seems to call the symbol that has been removed from e17.

Re: e17 in community

Is there a way to solv this problem?

The exalt-Repo from the enlightenment-svn doesn't have a module or gui yet.

did you try rebuilding all exalt related packages (libexalt_dbus-svn, libexalt-svn and exalt-svn) ? It does work for me if I build them all, so I suppose they were just linked against those functions?

Yes, I've done this and it doesn't change anything. I even read through the sourcecode of the exalt-module and there are the same changes made like in the other enlightenment-modules so that there shouldn't be a problem. I realy don't know what to do. Maybe I'll have to wait until exalt is completely ported to the enlightenment-svn PROTO trunk.

What I'm really wondering about is the fact that everything was working until the last e-svn upgrade on Oct 2nd.

that would probably be a good idea before investing too much time in it.

that is the first release with that patch included.
