I tried to install kde4 in arch but now when I try to log in I get
"cannot launch kdeinit4. Check your installation."
Does anybody know what could the reason for this?

It is the same problem as http://forums.archlinuxfr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1810
I get the same error messages, something like
=> /usr/bin/ssh-agent : error while loading shared libraries: libkrb5.so.22 : cannot open shared object file : no such file or directory
startkde: Starting up...
kdeinit4: symbole lookup error: /usr/lib/lbxml2.SO.2: undefined symbole : gzopen64
startkde: Could not start kdeinit4. Check your installation
EDIT Oh, I have libkrb5.so.25 installed but the error asks for libkrb5.so.22. What can I do....

When I type
sudo pacman -Syu
I get
error could not prepare transaction (conflicting files)
...
all kinds of klibc trouble "exists in filesystem"
...
errors occurred, no packages were upgraded
Sorry, I would copy and paste the command line but I cannot in TWM,
EDIT: aha, http://www.archlinux.org/news/411/

OK, finally managed to start KDE4. You have to update to get the libs correct, but there was this additional problem 411. Phew.
