Hello,
I would like to know if is there some way to force an USB mass storage into using the same device node.
E.g. my USB stick to always be /dev/sdc and my card reader to always be /dev/sdd.
It is because in my fstab I have:
/dev/sdc1 /media/usbstick vfat users,umask=000,iocharset=utf8 0 0
and an icon on my desktop to mount it upon clicking. However, if I load a card on the reader and then plug the USB stick, the stick assumes /dev/sdd and this isn't on my desktop.
Ideally I would have:
/dev/sdcX -> USB stick
/dev/sddX -> card reader
Any ideas? I don't really know where or how to begin. Neither do I want an automounter (I've had some issues with them on the past).
Thanks.
