Nice of some apps defaulting to 5 (awesome3 related)

Some apps start with their niceness on 5 (e.g. firefox and emesene), while the majority of others processes starts with a niceness of 0.

Does it happen with someone else? Is it normal?

I'm running kernel 2.6.27, and I don't know what other information may be useful.

Edit: apparently, awesome 3 is to blame. Only the apps started by it have their nice set to 5. If I run them by urxvtd (which was started by xinit and not awesome), the nice is the default, 0.
