Not sure what's the real issue, just posting to see if anybody else has/had the same problem.
Timeline:
Built vanila kernel 2.6.27-rc9 from kernel.org - Wireless works fine, no dropped connections
Installed kernel 2.6.27-1 from arch testing repo - Wireless works fine, no dropped connections
Installed kernel 2.6.27-2 from arch testing repo - Wireless card drops connection every 5 to 15 minutes
Reverted back to kernel 2.6.27-1 - No dropped connections
There appears to have been some changes between .27-1 and .27-2 the negatively effects the performance of the Intel Wifi Link 5100 card.
Anybody else experience the same issue?

I have something like that issue...
I am using the Intel Wireless 4965 and it doesn't seem to fully connect with the new kernel that just moved to core. It seems to have moved from the iwl4965 module to iwlcore and iwlagn. What happens to mine is that it says it auto connects at start up, but nothing will connect. I disconnect/reconnect, and everything works fine, except the weather applet in AWN.
I bet the newly updated Intel modules are the culprits in this case. (Brilliant logics there, huh?)
I am fairly new here, so I am not even sure where to file a bug report about it.
Now I get to figure out how to revert back.
I keep getting distracted from my webserver project...
huh? oooh... shiny!
