I'm using the uswsusp module and my laptop does hibernate after doing s2disk, however, pm-utils cancels the suspend just before calling it, dunno for how long it's been happening.... here's the log, any ideas?

I encountered a bug with /sys/power/image_size being set too large that caused the exact same problem. Needed to:
echo 0 > /sys/power/image_size
However, my problem was accompanied by a "failed to write" or some such error in my logs; not sure if your's is the same problem.
Regardless, try running that code. A value of zero will simply cause the system to try to minimize the image size as much as possible, which isn't a bad thing as far as I can tell. I simply run it in my rc.local on startup now.
