I'm not sure what the deal is, but the CD-ROM drive on my laptop completely stops functioning several minutes after it boots. It will work the first several minutes after a fresh reboot, but if I don't put anything into it within that short window, it stops working - pressing the open button doesn't do anything, and manually opening it, placing a CD in the tray, and closing it results in the same. It's almost as if Linux "turns it off."
Can anybody help me? I'm running kdemod 4.1.x on an Asus G1S-X3 laptop with a LightScribe DVD-RW multi drive, brand unknown.

The latest kernel upgrade to 2.6.27-2 seems to have fixed the problem.
